D2S Validate JAVA v2.0 is a Java Applet, Application (stand-alone and through WebStart) where you can open "signed" PDF files in order to validate PDF signature(s) present in PDF documents with X509 Certificate validation. Viewing of PDF documents is possible if you have installed Adobe Acrobat Reader v4.0 or higher. During validation of a PDF signature, this program will check:

  • if the PDF signature has correct fields
  • if the content of a PDF signature has a valid PKCS#7 signature
  • if the signing-time is within the valid period of the signers' certificate
  • if the signer's certificate is not revoked at signing-time
  • if the Certificat Revocation Lists (CRLs) are valid

This program runs on the client side in a Java-enabled browser, such as Ms. Internet Explorer and Netscape. The execution code will be downloaded from the server into a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) through the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). This runtime-environment is installed in java-enabled browers as a plug-in.
